District Nazim:

Chaudhry Shafaat Hussain was elected to the Gujrat District Council unopposed in August 2001. He was elected District Nazim in August 2001. He has previously been Chairman of the District Council from 1997 to 1999.

Chaudhry Shafaat is younger brother of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, former Prime Minister and President Pakistan Muslim League (Q).

He holds a masters degree in Economics.
